An energy audit was prepared for the Siemens production site in Regensburg. Various measures were worked out to improve energy efficiency and thus save costs.
eta Energieberatung also carried out the repeat audit for the SRH Group. During the audit numerous individual measures were analysed and the possible savings were determined.
Based on the detailed analysis of the actual state, measures for waste heat utilisation and optimisation of the compressed air network were developed. The savings were quantified and the expected costs determined.
Measures from the fields of compressed air, steam, refrigeration and ventilation technology were investigated. If all proposed measures were implemented, energy costs could be reduced by approx. 8 to 9 %.
Various measures for optimising insulation in the steam and condensate network (e.g. insulation for steam and thermal oil fittings) were developed and economically evaluated. A catalogue of measures with investments, savings and amortisation periods was drawn up.
A comparison of the capital, consumption and operating costs for the centralised and decentralised generation variants showed that the centralised variant (partial renewal) has significantly lower annual costs than the decentralised concepts. The cost difference is around €500,000 per year.
Based on the measurements carried out, a detailed representation of the energy flows in the electroplating shop was created. For several plants a power adjustment with frequency converters was proposed. Unused tax advantages for the natural gas used in the TNV were shown.
The company Borgers has been supported by eta Energieberatung for many years. The main focus of the consulting services was the establishment and maintenance of an energy management system according to ISO 50001, among other things a catalogue of efficiency measures was compiled, which shows annual CO2 savings of approx. 3,200 t resp. cost savings of 8 %.

The investigation of the internal energy flows has shown that due to the insufficient hydraulics of the existing heating network, the already existing waste heat recovery from the cooling water circuit of the oil refinery cannot be fully utilized. The greatest cost savings were achieved by the recommended conversion to natural gas instead of heating oil.
For KAESER Kompressoren GmbH, a business and technical review of the energy purchase conditions and consulting services for energy consumption reduction were carried out. After completion of the work, an energy concept with numerous recommendations for action was available.
eta Energieberatung carried out an energy efficiency study on the properties and technical facilities of the ZMS. Within the scope of this investigation various energy saving potentials could be identified. The individual measures were analysed with regard to their technical feasibility and the economic efficiency.
The study identified interesting approaches to reduce energy costs. For example, it was recommended that sterilisation be switched to external steam supply. The use of a CHP is economical. This also allows the grid replacement power capacities to be expanded.
Within the framework of the project, it was possible to identify possibilities for energy saving of around 300,000 euros per year. Measures such as the energetic optimisation of the boiler house should be emphasised. This would result in considerable savings.
Within the framework of the project, it was possible to identify possibilities for energy savings amounting to more than 700,000 euros per year. These range from purely organisational measures to larger investment measures such as the use of a CHP unit or the retrofitting of recuperators in the painting booths.
