Bamberg district concept

So-called district concepts are usually the basis for decision-making. A multitude of questions have to be considered. An important point is the energy supply of such new residential areas. By working out different supply variants, these can be compared with each other. This is then the basis for an ecologically and economically sustainable decision.

Present barracks area in the east of Bamberg. In the future 10 new buildings and 11 existing buildings with a net floor area of about 165,000 m².

Initial situation

The conversion of a barracks is intended to create a lively, mixed-use district in the east of Bamberg.

The future energy supply of the quarter is to be based primarily on regenerative energies.

The primary energy factor for a future heat supply must be below 0.5.

Terms of reference

Within the scope of the preliminary planning, eta Energieberatung designed six innovative supply concepts for the realisation area in coordination with the client. These concepts were then presented in an evaluation matrix with over 10 evaluation criteria each, and on the basis of this comparison the client selected three concept proposals. For these three concepts the investments were estimated and target price offers were obtained.
