MAN Truck and Bus – energy management<\/h1>\n

MAN Truck & Bus SE has set itself an ambitious goal of reducing CO2<\/sub> emissions by 50% by 2025 compared to 2015. The introduction of the energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001:2018 in all plants and the continuous further development of the CO2<\/sub> roadmap are essential building blocks for the Group on its way to achieving this goal.<\/p>\n

In 2017, the energy management system was successfully introduced and certified at the South African production site in Pinetown. Since the beginning, eta Energieberatung<\/em> has supported MAN Truck & Bus SE in setting up and implementing the energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001 at the European sites and in Turkey. From 2020, the Munich, Dachau and Nuremberg sites followed, all of which successfully passed the external audit by T\u00dcV S\u00fcd. In 2021, the remaining sites Starachowice (PL), Ankara, Steyr, Krakow, Plauen and in Salzgitter both the components plant and the logistics centre are to be certified. eta Energieberatung<\/em> was able to provide active support for all sites with its expertise. The focus was on the development of the energy assessment and thus the core of the energy management system. The energy assessment shows energy flows, essential consumers and potential for improvement within the system boundaries. It serves as a starting point and thus as a benchmark for the following years. The elaboration of the energy assessment was documented in an energy report for each site.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, eta Energieberatung<\/em> has been assisting the central department for environmental protection and occupational safety in the development of the CO2<\/sub> roadmap for many years. With the help of various savings measures, the goal of reducing CO2<\/sub> emissions by 25% by 2020 compared to 2008 was already achieved ahead of schedule in 2018.<\/p>\n

With regard to the CO2<\/sub> roadmap, it is important to comply with legal requirements and to achieve our own ambitious goals.<\/p>\n
